For the newspaper project, do we need to make characters from the story the editors, or can we be the editors?
I'm leaving length requirements up to you. In short, it should be as long as it takes to report on the hanging, with clarity, accuracy, and detail. It is definitely one of the longer articles. I imagine it would be about 300 or so words (1.5 pages "ish" if typed out like an essay).
For what did they call themselves, think of them as a team. It would be normal for them to say, "We Puritans" (sort of like Spartans...); but it would be weird for some sort of third person reference like, "John, a Puritan, ...." or, "The Puritans...." They would not self-refernce as a third person observer.
I think an advice column is a spectacular idea!!! You should include one! However, not in the place of letters to the editor; letters to the editor are still required (and would be different in tone and content, of course).
For the summery in the newspaper, I am going to use the date that it says "Eleven-year-old Abigail Williams and nine-year-old Elizabeth Parris begin behaving strangely." as the date for when they are caught dancing and when Betty begins to act sickly and motionless. Is that ok?
Misa, date, yes, age on Abby, no. Length requirements are what it takes to make "it" good. Summary may be in paragraphs in an article, it may be in another format. It's up to you.
thanks. I'll try to make this my last question: What do you mean "letters to the editor"? Is it just like writing and opinion to the newspaper or is it like asking a question to the editor and giving a response?
Those letters could be either, and/or, both. If you want to model after something, check out the front setion of a newspaper, such as the "Fencepost" in the "Daily Herald". Really, a letter in with some strong opinion on previous reporting or on something from current life and politics gives readers a voice, which is the letter to editor section. And the editor has an opportunity to respond.
DIRECTOR'S BOARD-length was suppose to be cleared by me to ensure it was a scene that was not too long (to avoid camera shot lapses that would be too long in between, and to avoid just giving me "setting" shots); background, some , yes. LYRICS-yes, Danisha, if I understand you correctly.
rcould i do the scean in Act II where Giles corey comes into proctor's house to tell them that they've taken his wife away, to the part where cheever comes to take Elizabeth way? or is that too short?
i want to do the song on abby lik from her piont of view can i make it only about how much she wants john and cant have him cause thats the only blues she has

What is the length requirement of the feature article of the newspaper article?
I suggest: make yourself the Editor; make up other Puritans for the reporters who write for you. So, yes, you can be the editor of your newspaper! :)

Did the puritans call themselves Puritans?
(same question as Misa's)
I'm just going to assume they did...

Is there a length requirement for the other parts of the newspaper like the autobiographical sketch or the summery?

Can I use the dates in history for the newspaper?
Absolutely, yes you can! (use dates from history)
for the director's board, do we have to give a reason why we drew, on all the pictures??? like the 3-D ones?
and if we do the director's board, do we have to draw the whole Act? how long does it have to be?
for the lyrics one can i make a verse for one person each then the chorus will be about all of them
danisha
